Volunteering as an Opportunity to Ensure Equal Access to Education for All (Results of a Survey of Teachers’ and Students’ Opinion)

Abstract. The affordances of volunteering to support working with children and students of special educational needs are analyzed on the basis of data from a survey of teachers’ and students’ opinion. The positive influence of sports activities is established, however, these cannot always be carried out due to a lack of suitable conditions. Although volunteering has its supporters, it is still not widespread in Bulgarian society. The conclusion is that it is necessary to take action to inform and involve young people with different specialties in the practice of voluntary activities related to the integration of children and students with disabilities through sports activities and additional activities stimulating a healthy lifestyle.
