IN MEMORIAM
In Мemory of Prof. Doru Stefanesku, DSc.
Regretfully, we inform our readers that on 05/09/2021, at the age of 69, passed away a distingished member of the editorial board of the "Mathematics and Informatics" journal, Prof. Doru Stefanesku, DSc., a respected Romanian mathematician, Senior Vice-Chairman of the Romanian Mathematical Society and Executive Editor at the Bulletin at the Society, three-time president of the Mathematical Society of Southeast Europe.
Stefanesku’s gift in mathematics is noticeable even in his school years. He participates in numerous competitions and olympiads, later studies mathematics at the University of Bucharest (Romania) and also in Italy, Prof. Stefanesku acts as hosting professor at foreign universities. His last occupation is as Professor of Mathematics at the Faculty of Physics at the University of Bucharest.
We‘ll remember Professor Doru Stefanesku with his serious and highly professional attitude to everything he undertook. His honor and kindness will continue to serve as an example.
Rest in peace, Doru!
