Abstract. Awareness, health knowledge, and the role of health-enhancing physical activity for the human body are essential for shaping attitudes and habits for a healthy lifestyle. Modern health policies unite around the fact that an individual can do more for their health and well-being than the best-developed health system. The author highlights the educational potential of the subject “Physical education and sport” in the higher education system of Bulgaria.
