Abstract. The paper presents the results of a survey conducted by analysing the viewpoints expressed by 361 parents and teachers. The study aims to address the following research questions: 1) do parents and teachers consider that a nurturing process should also take place in schools; 2) what do they think the educational process in a school setting involves; 3) do they consider the educational competence as an important element of a teacher‘s pedagogical competence? The aim is realized through three main tasks: collecting teachers‘ and parents‘ opinions; systematization and analysis of data; and summarizing and presenting the results. The research method used is content analysis of opinions published on social networks. The study is conducted in 4 stages: 1. Selection of groups/“pages” to be analysed, based on the following criteria: a) related to problems/issues in the field of education, family, and children, b) more than 20,000 participants (“followers”), c) at least one post per two days; 2. Selection of relevant posts that: a) are related to the educational process in a school environment, b) have over 50 “likes” and comments; 3. Review all selected posts and their comments and differentiation of the relevant ones (on the topic, related to the educational process and/or the educational competence of the teacher); perform content analysis; 4. Interpretation, summary, and presentation of the results.
