Speech Strategies in Presidential Candidate Debates

Absract. The article is dedicated to the presidential candidate debate between the current President Rumen Radev and Prof. Anastas Gerdzhikov. The research traces whether their vocabulary adheres to the official discourse, how dynamic it is and whether it answers to the requirements of high speech etiquette. On the other hand, it examines certain phonetic features, such as tempo, intonation, logical stress, repetitions, etc.
наблюдава в кой момент дебатиращите изоставят официалното поведение и високия речев етикет и губят позиции в спора. Обект на лингвистичен анализ са и дължината на изреченията, броят на използваните думи, както и Аз-говоренето. Накрая е поставен и въпросът какво се цели с това: дали красноречиво да убедят избирателите и да привлекат одобрението и интереса върху себе си, или постигат обратното – неодобрението и недоволството на
аудиторията.
